Low alcohol beer prodn. by pervaporation - with removal of carbon di:oxide from beer by selective membrane and burning of permeated alcohol to form carbon di:oxide and water which are added to the retentate
In the prodn. of beer with reduced alcohol content by pervaporation, whereby before the pervaporation, CO2 is removed from the beer by means of a selective membrane and reintroduced, while the permeate is reintroduced after utilising the combustion energy of the alcohol. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process gives min. thermal action on the beer and less necessity for compensation of the flavour than previously, together with improved overall energy balance.
