In the prodn. of beer with reduced alcohol content by pervaporation, whereby before the pervaporation, CO2 is removed from the beer by means of a selective membrane and reintroduced, while the permeate is reintroduced after utilising the combustion energy of the alcohol. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process gives min. thermal action on the beer and less necessity for compensation of the flavour than previously, together with improved overall energy balance.
