magnetic recording medium exhibits a non-magnetic substrate, a 1st and 2nd magnetic layer in this order where the 2st and 2nd magnetic layers comprise a ferromagnetic powder and a binding agent, where the 2nd magnetic layer is 0.05-0.5 microns thick and has a coercitivity of 1200-2000 Oe and exhibits a ferromagnetic powder, and where the 1st magnetic layer has an antimagnetic force which is 800-2500 Oe greater than that of the 2nd magnetic layer, and the magnetic residual flux density of the 1st magnetic layer alone = 30-70% of the 2nd magnetic layer alone. USE/ADVANTAGE - Useful for magnetic recording media, esp. magnetic recording discs used for data logging giving enhanced density, useful for recording and reprodution of digital signals of recording wavelength not greater than 3.0 microns (claimed).
