Folded dipole Yagi antenna mfr. - using preform comprising rings alternately closed and having small separation, bending into folded dipoles and twisting
The Yagi antenna is mfd. from a planar preform comprising rings arranged adjacent to one another in the form of a figure of eight. The intersection point of the figure of eight has alternately closed (2) rings, and rings having a small separation (3) parallel to the antenna axis. The rings are bent into half-wave dipoles perpendicular to the antenna axis and in a zigzag shape. Each closed intersection point (2) forms an electrically isolated mounting point for attachment to a longitudinal support, and the sections (3) parallel to the antenna axis form the connections to the folded dipoles. After bending, the dipoles are pref. twisted by 180 deg. to form a logarithmic periodic antenna. ADVANTAGE - Avoids mechanical contact points susceptible to corrosion.
