Solar cell for converting solar energy into electrical energy - contg. photon-receiving absorbing material made of amorphous silicon which is inserted glass to raise photon absorption independent of solar state
A solar cell has a photon-receiving absorbing material made of amorphous silicon. The material is in the form of an appts. radially stretching from the vertical longitudinal axis of a glass body, in which it is inserted, to raise the photon absorption independently of each solar state. The absorbing material appts. is made of individual spokes (2) or spoke-like segments, or a continuous strip. The longitudinal axis (3) of the glass body (1) and the spokes are tubular in shape. A cooling medium is led through the inside of the e.g. tubular formed longitudinal axis and the spokes to cool the absorbing material. ADVANTAGE - A larger, more effective absorber surface area is achieved.
