The self-synchronising 720 deg. coupling incorporates an additional coupling internal control gear consisting a screw gear wheel drive and camshaft mechanism. The screw gear wheel drive has a large central drive gear wheel (87) coaxial with the coupling rotary axis, and around which are driven gear wheels which are fixed to camshafts tangential to the central gear wheel (87). The camshaft mechanisms are provided individually for each pawl (60). The 720 deg. coupling has two vis-a-vis arranged pawls and two vis-a-vis arranged pawl gaps (57) in a ratchet wheel (56),. Each camshaft mechanism consists of a shaft, a cam on the shaft, and a tappet, and functions as periodically working stop for the corresp. pressure pin (64) and pawl (60). USE - As a self-synchronising 720 deg. coupling for part-crankshafts of split-environment engines.
