Increasing lifetime of electrochemical sensors - detecting reduction of sensitivity or fault by switching row of sensors or electrodes with positive convection or diffusion gas transport
A gas sensor unit consists of a row of electrochemical sensors of the same or similar design and for use with the same gas. The electrochemical cells can be separate and connected via a gas tube. The gas to be detected is fed by positive convection, i.e. a pump or other means, from one cell to another. Alternatively, the gas passes between cells by diffusion. The cells can be arranged along a gas conducting pipe to enable either transport mechanism. USE - Detecting gas, vapour or liq. in gas or liq. phases.
