A test stand, esp. for measuring noise in vehicle exhaust systems, contains an engine chamber (R1) in which an engine to be tested is set up, an acoustically separate measurement chamber (R2) and an exhaust system which is attached to the engine. The test stand is constructed so that a flange type power brake (B) is directly attached to the engine's crankshaft and so that the exhaust system (A) is mounted in the original position for the engine (M). USE/ADVANTAGE - Measuring noise in exhaust system noise damping systems. Errors caused by non-representative positioning of exhaust system avoided.
