An arrangement for neutralising magnetic-field distortion which is caused by ships in the harbour is proposed, the required compensation being automatically controlled by means of a computer. The control functions determined for this purpose by the computer can be stored temporarily completely or in abbreviated form in a memory which at its output controls controllable current amplifiers for generating appropriate exciter currents.
