Process for preparing polymers with a polydispersity optionally approaching to the theoretical polydispersity and substituted groups in positions alpha, omega, via free-radical polymerization of polymerizable monomers and by the use of one or more initiators. According to this method, the degree of polymerization is maintained at the desired value by a continuous increase of the temperature. In the case of a given thermal program, the method of the invention makes it possible to increase the conversion without producing polymers détériortion of polydispersity.
