PURPOSE:To resolve a nonlinear eigenvalue equation in a short time by inputting a slack parameter in accordance with a converging condition so as to reduce the number of calculation repeating times. CONSTITUTION:An operation processor 2 is constituted of an arithmetic section 2a, processing procedure storing section 2b, intermediate data storing section 2c, picture data outputting section 2d, and inputting section 2e and data prepared by the processor 2 are displayed on the displaying screen of a picture output device 4. A slack parameter reflecting the convergency of an eigenvector is set in the course of repeated calculation. The setting of the slack parameter is made to correspond to the convergency of the eigenvector and, when the convergency is good, a larger slack parameter is given. When the convergency is bad, a small slack parameter is given. Therefore, the optimum parameter can be set and the convergency can be improved. In addition, the solution of a nonlinear eigenvalue equation can be found in a short time.
