PURPOSE:To estimate the stiffening degree of an apparatus member and stress corrosion crack sensitivity by detecting grain-boundary segregation property of metal material accurately without destruction. CONSTITUTION:A grain boundary 8 of a metal material is selectively corroded by a chemical etching method, and a replica 7 is sampled. An intergranular corrosion groove width 9 of the replica 7 is quantitatively measured with a scanning type electron microscope. The grain boundary segregation property is obtained based on the measured intergranular corrosion groove width 9.
