PURPOSE:To prevent a tracking servo system from going to unstable due to the reduction of the gain of the tracking servo system which is caused by the reduction of the quantity of reflected light due to long holes formed on an optical disk by delete recording. CONSTITUTION:In the case of the delete recording processing where long hole pits 31 due to delete pulses are overwritten on recorded information pits 30 to delete information, phases of delete pulses to be recorded on adjacent tracks 29 are made different from each other to shift recording positions of long hole pits 30 on adjacent tracks from each other, and thereby, the reduction of the quantity of reflected light is prevented and the reduction of the gain of the tracking servo system is prevented to improve the stability of the tracking servo characteristic.
