PURPOSE:To sense a relatively small protrusion such as of a nail which is difficult to sense with pipe passage inspection by inserting a soft piece having an outer diameter slightly larger than the inner diameter of a corrugated pipe in a compressed state into the placed corrugated pipe. CONSTITUTION:A soft piece 2 is run from an end to the other end of a corrugated pipe 1 inside the pipe 1 by a tractor wire 3, and after it is completely run, a state of flaw or damage of the piece 2 is observed. Thus existence of a protrusion of a nail 4 into the pipe 1 can be sensed. As the pipe 2, a rubber balloon, a sponge piece, a plastic bag, etc., may be used. In addition, with a vacuum pump coupled to one end of the pipe 1, the piece 2 is run while a space between the end of the pipe 1 and the piece 2 is maintained in a pressure- reduced state. When the piece 2 is in contact with the protruding nail 4 on the inner face of the pipe 1, the piece 2 (balloon or a plastic bag containing a sponge) is broken, and airtightness between the pipe 2 and the pipe 1 is lost to have a vacuum degree between the end of the pipe 1 and the piece 2 dropped, wherein the drop is monitored by a vacuum gage to sense the protrusion of the nail 4.
