Formwork element intended for the in situ casting of a cement coping stone on the shoulder of a swimming pool wall, which element consists of a profile which is made of a lightweight material and whose cross-section comprises: - a straight lower part 11 intended to be placed vertically, bearing against one of the lateral faces 30, 31 of the said wall 3; - a tongue 12 capable of taking up a position horizontally above the said shoulder 32, either bearing directly against the latter, or lodged in the connection groove 20 of a profile previously anchored on the shoulder 32 and which is intended to ensure the retention of a sealing film; - an arched part 10 intended to form one of the edges of the cast coping stone 4 and of which the concavity is directed laterally on the side of the wall 3.
