Railway track top structure - comprises ballast bed with transversal sleepers of stressed concrete having thinner central area for rail location
Recesses (8) are provided in the area for rail (3) location on the sleeper (1), and partic. in the outer two fifths to a third of the sleeper. The side surfaces of the sleeper and also the recesses have a gradient of at least 1 in 10, and the cross-sectional surface in the region of two counterposed recesses is greater than that in the central area of the sleeper (1). The sleeper has recesses (11) also on at least " one surface facing towards the ground, and which are located in the two outer third parts of it. When viewed in the longitudinal direction of the rail, projections are provided to accommodate rail fixtures (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Railway track surface using a ballast bed in which concrete sleepers are located, and which requires less maintenance work.
