Compsn. for controlling the Mottled Umber Moth (Erannis deefoliaria) contains 3Z,6Z,9Z-nonadecatriene (I) and/or cis-6,7-epoxy-3Z,9Z-nonadecadiene (II). Pref. the compsn. contains (I) and (II) in a (I):(II) ratio of 100:1 to 1:100, pref. 1:1-20, esp. 3:10. They may also contain an insecticide. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsn. selectively attracts male moths and may be used to trap the males or to reduce populations by confusion. In an example in a field test, rubber supports were impregnated with a mixt. of 30 mcg (I) and 100 mcg (II), and placed in delta-type traps with adhesive surface. The no. of males trapped over an unspecified period was 123 (cf. 1 without pheromones).
