The selection slide (10) has a tongue which engages the tab of the selected register card rigidly connects to the housing cover. This tongue (11) is rigid in the pivot direction of the cover, but is formed to be turned away in a sprung elastic fashion from the face edge (7) of a tab (6). The selection tongue (11) is formed as a plate spring, one end of which is formed tightly outside the pivot range of the tab (6) parallel to the tab face edge. Its high rigid cross-sectional profile points in the pivot direction of the housing cover, its free spring end extends into the pivot range of the tab surface via a slight arc, and its edge pointing to the housing (1) stretches from its fixed end in a slightly covex curve to a pick up edge. USE/ADVANTAGE - As a register for instruction documents with tabs in which tab damage due to faulty selection is obviated.
