The apparatus for altering the basic characteristics of stereo scanners contains at least two CCD rows (4, 5) arranged in the image plane transversely with respect to the flight direction. The CCD rows are adjustable with respect to each other and to the image acquisition axis. The distance between the rows can be varied. They are mounted on guide rails which lie parallel to the image plane. The adjustments are controlled by the scanner's main computer. The rows can be moved commonly in one direction to compensate for image wandering.
