A boring head with diamond-set cutters has a hollow drill bit revolving at a slower speed than a high-speed spherical inner drill bit. The former is driven by an inclined shaft with a bevel pinion and an internal gear rim and the latter is driven by a Cardan joint at the end of this shaft. Both are revolved by a MOINEAU motor, i.e. a down-the-hole screw type drive. ADVANTAGE - This improves the efficiency of the drive motor as well as the action of the two diamond drilling bits.
