Three section vibrating conveyor drum processes for old casting sand - by adding water or binding agent or both in 1st section, cooling air in 2nd and opt. water in 3rd
Processing system for old casting sand using a vibrating conveyer drum (1) sections in which the sand is cooled, dampened and premixed, has the novelty that in a first section (8) the sand is sprayed or has solids added to it, or both. More specifically a binding component is added. Dowstream in a second section (9), the fine-grained loose material is aerated while in the third section (10) liquid is again added. The sand is rotated in a screw-like fashion by the conveyer drum. ADVANTAGE - Optimum processing of the sand is achieved avoiding condensation or clogging in the exhaust air ducts.
