The invention relates to hydraulic engineering. Namely, to methods of using water resources of lowland rivers for hydropower, water supply, irrigation and other household needs. The purpose of the invention is to reduce environmental disturbances in the river basin by reducing the areas of alienated territories. On the river 1 a cascade of dams 2 is built with hydroelectric power stations and other structures necessary for the operation of the waterworks. On both sides of the river 1, longitudinal dams 3 are built, adjoining lower ends 4 to dams 2 from their high sides. Channels 5 are made on the outer side of the dams 3, and mouth 6 of which mates with river 1 between the lower faces of dams 2 and upper ends of 7 dams 3.
