An agricultural implement which is used to cultivate the soil and sow the seeds has a two part frame. The first part of the frame (4) can be coupled to a tractor (1) and the second part (8) is attached to the first part by a pivot. The second part of the frame carries a soil cultivator (2) which is able to be locked in position by a hydraulically operated adjusting cylinder (63) and a mechanical locking mechanism (70,72). The cultivator can be locked and supported in three positions, working, semi-lifted for transporting and fully lifted for storage by operating the adjusting and locking mechanism.
