PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of each foresight and to decrease the cost by forming a plurality of foresights on one substrate at the same time, cutting the substrate, and manufacturing a plurality of foresight elements in each of which one foresight is contained. CONSTITUTION:On a large glass substrate 1, (m X n) pieces of isosceles-triangle- shaped foresights 2 are formed by etching. Then, the substrate 1 is cut along cutting lines 4 and 5 so that (m X n) pieces of square foresight plate elements each including the foresight 2 are obtained. In this way, (m X n) pieces of the elements 3 can be obtained by only one etching and cutting work. Since the foresight 2 is formed by etching, the manufacturing accuracy can be raised.
