PURPOSE:To generate fusion reaction easily by activating an absorbent body to absorb a gaseous substance which can generate the fusion reaction, by making a local high density condition under a supersaturation condition. CONSTITUTION:An inside of a reaction tube 103 is vacuumized to around 1 Pa by a vacuum pump 114, alternative voltage of 60Hz and several thousands volt is charged between a palladium rod 104 and the reaction tube 103, glow discharge is generated to bombard the palladium rod 104, and therewith the palladium rod 104 is activated. After that, residual gas is evacuated by use of the vacuum pump 114 and thereafter an 1atm deuterium is introduced into the reaction tube 103. Then, the palladium rod 104 begins to absorb the deuterium and local high density condition is generated in the palladium rod 104 and finally fusion reaction is generated.
