PURPOSE:To uniformly color woven fabric of silk without dyeing unevenness by dyeing woven fabric of silk in the presence of a dyeing auxiliary comprising a sucrose fatty acid ester and nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:Woven fabric of silk is dyed by dipping (brush dyeing or padding method) in the presence of a dyeing auxiliary for woven fabric of silk consisting of a sucrose fatty acid ester comprising =70wt.% based on total fatty acids of 8-14C saturated fatty acid part in fatty acids to constitute an ester with sucrose and having =3 average substitution degree to sucrose, preferably 12C lauric acid ester and an anionic surfactant such as polyoxyethylene alkyl phenyl ether to give a uniformly colored material not causing dyeing unevenness. The amount of the ester added is preferably 0.004-0.2wt.% in a dyeing bath having 1:50 bathing ratio in the case of dipping dyeing.
