PURPOSE:To make efficient of work by loading a great depth extension device capable of expansion to a middle depth expansion arm provided with a falling rising device through an adapter and, at the same time, excavating the great depth by means of a bucket with small capacity. CONSTITUTION:A middle depth expansion arm 11 provided with a falling and rising device 20 is mounted to the end of a boom of a hydraulic shovel 1. A great depth extension device 40 capable of expansion is mounted to the tip pipe 11n through an adapter 41. Up to the middle depth, a bucket with relatively great capacity is loaded to the tip pipe 11n to make excavation, and when work for the great depth is required, the extension device 40 is added to excavate by means of a bucket 42 with small capacity. According to the constitution, the great depth excavation can be efficiently made by the hydraulic shovel.
