The invention relates to a building unit for constructing buildings. The building unit 25 is formed of uprights 28 having a V-shaped section connecting a lower portion and a lower section. upper part which each comprise a frame 26, 27 formed of sections 32, 33, 36, 37 and a horizontal wall 30, 31; the profiles 32, 33 which make up the lower frame 26 have a lower mechanical strength than that which would be necessary so that they, during the suspension of the construction unit 25, can withstand, without damaging deformation, the dead weight of the lower horizontal wall 30 and its possible overloads. / P P The lower frame 26 of the building unit 25 is of reduced height, which makes it possible to reduce the height of the empty space between the construction 25 superimposed. / P
