The circuit contains a measurement resistance (3) in a four-wire circuit with a short-circuit switch between its voltage tappings. A differential amplifier (2) and a voltage-to-frequency converter (1) with charge quantity compensation are provided, a sample-and-hold element (16), frequency dividers (10,11)m(10,11), an output stage (14) and other logic elements. The output of the voltage-to-frequency converter is connected via an AND circuit (12) to an output stage (9) pref. contg. an optical transmitter. The further inputs of the AND circuit are connected via the frequency dividers and a delay gate to the internal oscillator of the transducer. The frequency divider is designed to produce a definite duty cycle. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in process automation applications. The circuit design ensures that the accuracies of the current supply and oscillator have no influence on the number of pulses transmitted.
