The diver's mask, wind goggles etc, have one or more lenses, to which an optical component for sight correction is secured by a layer of transparent resin. The resin (5) itself forms an optically-active component, or alternatively can be the only such component. Initially, transparent resin in liquid or workable form can be applied to the inner or outer surface of the main lens (2). A lens to suit the individual user is then pressed into the resin and held until the latter is hardened. ADVANTAGE - No need to accommodate spectables of a short-sighted person.
