The invention relates to an apparatus for providing access to a duct in the body, especially the bile or pancreatic duct, or to a body organ, especially the gallbladder. The apparatus is shaped like a pipe whose cross-section is dimensioned such that an endoscope can be introduced through the pipe. The pipe possesses a relatively flexible first section (9) and a second, relatively inflexible section (8). The first relatively flexible section (9) is provided with a fixing means (12, 13) with the aid of which it can be fixed in the duct (4, 7) or organ (2). IMAGE
