For the reliable fluid-tight butt-joint connection which can be monitored and exchanged in the interior of the pipe and is arranged such that the inner surfaces are flush, a seal comprising individual parts can be inserted in a simple manner after laying and covering over the pipes. To facilitate assembly, portions of the butt-joint connection may also be inserted. Furthermore, there is the possibility of tightening the butt-joint connection by the connection means, e.g. screwed connection means, and, moreover, of monitoring it.
