Method and device for stable but releasable fixing of a lighting column or the like in a cavity 10 which is formed in a concrete foundation 11, is open at the top and is considerably wider than is necessary for receiving the lower section 9 of the column. Arranged in the mouth of the cavity 10, and supported by it, there is a hollow cylindrical plastic component 1 which surrounds the column and at the bottom adjoins the column via a flexible end section, and which has openings 6 arranged all around it in its jacket wall. Cast into the space between the jacket wall and the column is a filling composition 12 which tightly encloses the column and is anchored through the openings 6 on the boundary wall for the cavity 10 in the foundation.
