Computer map display generator for tactical military comms. - has memory storing graphical data from divided map and data processor generating signal for display, supplied with relevant coordinates
The computer generator is for displaying a composed image of one part of a divided map from a collection of sections. The computer has a data store in which graphical data from the divided map is recorded and in which information in the form of a certain type of coordinate is recorded for each part. A data processor is connected to the data-store which can generate signals with which a display can be graphically aimed at. The processor is supplied with coordinates of a point which is displayed on a predetermined point defines which map part includes the data concerning the coordinates and taking account of the range of the map parts. It defines which pixel includes the information of the selected point and also which other parts or sub parts of the map are to be displayed. It makes the read graphic data suitable for showing on the display.
