PURPOSE:To continuously and rapidly carry out scouring and bleaching treatment and contrive both miniaturization of an apparatus and reduction in processing and equipment costs by initially subjecting a cotton knit fabric to readily solubilizing treatment of fats and then successively carrying out saponifying, scouring and bleaching treatment of the resultant fabric in solutions at respective specific temperatures. CONSTITUTION:A cotton knit fabric is initially treated in an oxidizing agent solution, such as sodium hypochlorite, at 90-95 deg.C for 1min to carry out readily solubilizing treatment of fats. The resultant fabric is then subjected to dipping treatment in a caustic soda solution at 90-95 deg.C for 1min to carry out saponifying and scouring treatment. Furthermore, the fabric is subjected to dipping treatment in an oxidizing and bleaching agent solution, such as hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite, at 90-95 deg.C for 2-5min to complete scouring and bleaching.
