PURPOSE:To obtain a high-MW polymer, by polycondensing polyethyleneoxydiglycolic acid with a diamine at a specified ratio in a specified temperature range. CONSTITUTION:Polyethyleneoxydiglycolic acid of formula I (wherein n is 4-300) is polycondensed with a diamine in a molar ratio, latter/former, of 0.5-2/1 in a temperature range of 50-300 deg.C. Examples of the above diamines include alkylelediamines of formula II (wherein m is 2-10) or cyclic diamines and polyethylene glycol diamines of formula III (wherein p is 3-300). If necessary, a solvent such as toluene is used. With respect to the above polyethyleneoxydiglycolic acid, those having an average MW of 300-10,000 can be used effectively.
