PURPOSE:To obtain the subject particulate live vaccine, consisting of sodium alginate containing an active ingredient of a live vaccine mixed therein and capable of readily regulating degree of infection and providing effects on reduction in administration labor, combined use thereof with other agents, uniform amount of ingestion, etc. CONSTITUTION:A live vaccine obtained by mixing an active ingredient of the live vaccine (e.g., oocyst of avian coccidiosis protozoan) in a solution of sodium alginate in 1-2wt./vol.% concentration, dripping the above-mentioned solution by 10-25mul into a solidifying solution (e.g., calcium chloride solution in 1-10wt./vol.% concentration) using a dripping device having a capillary, such as injection needle, attached to the tip thereof to form spherical particles having about 2-5mm diameter. Newcastle disease attenuated vaccine, avian infectious Fabricius bursa attenuated virus, avian encephalomycelitis live virus, etc., are cited as the active ingredient of the live vaccine mixed in the sodium alginate.
