PURPOSE:To minimize the fluctuation of pressure and gas flow rate at any part in a gas circulation system by keeping a control valve to a definite opening independent of the gas pressure at the top of a cooling chamber when the lid of the charging hole of a coke oven is in opened state. CONSTITUTION:In the pressure control of a circulation gas system 2 of a coke oven CDQ, the flow rates at the top of plural cooling chambers are measured during the charging of coke into the cooling chamber 1 and for 1min before the opening of the lid of the charging hole, the measured values are averaged, the opening of a control valve 17 is set to an opening corresponding to the average value and is fixed to the opening at least when the lid of the charging hole of the cooling chamber 1 is in opened state for coke-charging. The gas- circulation system of the CDQ can be controlled in normal state even if the lid of the charging hole of the cooling chamber 1 is opened for coke-charging and the fluctuation of the pressure and gas flow rate at any part in the CDQ gas circulation system can be minimized by this process.
