PURPOSE: To provide a linear output over a wide band by composing a linear amplifier of 1st and 2nd differential amplifier sections and a linearizing element for removing the diode nonlinearity, bonding the bases and emitters of transistors at the respective differential amplifier sections. CONSTITUTION: When transistors(TRs) 18 and 20 are turned on, a current i1 flows through resistors 60 and 62, passes through TRs 34 and 38 and flows through a bias voltage VBE2 between the base and the emitter to a terminal 42. Similarly, when TRs 22 and 24 are turned off, the current i1 flows from TRs 36 and 38 through resistors 64 and 66. Therefore, a voltage VBE1 is set between the base and emitter junctions of these TRs. Further, a current i2 is established for a resistor 56 by a differential voltage between the emitters of the TRs 36 and 38. In this case, when the value of resistors 60, 62, 64 and 66 is defined as R1, the value of the resistor 56 is defined as R1/2 and the current of a load 12 is defined as i0 , equations I, II and III are established and when an input voltage is defined as Vi, the condition of i0 =2Vi/R1 is established. Thus, the output current of an amplifier 10 cancels the nonlinear characteristics of an input stage and becomes the linear function of the input voltage Vi.
