PURPOSE: To provide a polymer material significantly improved in impact strength without loosing the characteristic of the polymer by blending aluminum methylemethyl phosphonate with a specified fatty acid metal salt. ;CONSTITUTION: To a polymer material in which aluminum methylmethyl phopshonate is blended as flame retarder to an impact resisting polyphenylene ether mixture, 1-10 wt.% of a 12-20C fatty acid, a salt of the fatty acid by a metal of the group IIA or IIB of the periodic table of elements, or a compound of RO-(C₂H₄O)nCH₂COOM [R is a 12-18C hydrocarbon group; (n) is an integer having an average value of 1-10; M is a metal of the group II] is blended.
