PURPOSE: To reconstitute the image of a structure to a single contour body and to provide a single plane image by providing a step for deciding the structure of selective video imaging to a space area inside a three-dimensional image, the step for executing variable phase shifting and the step for generating the three-dimensional image. CONSTITUTION: An uniform magnetic field is generated in the Z axis direction of an object 10 by a static magnet 8 and slice bodies (p), (q),...(z) are set to the part of photographing. An NMR response is received through an RF coil 16 and a system is controlled by a control computer 24 for gathering data and performing communication with a display computer 26. Inverse or normal Fourier transformation (1, 2 and 3 dimensional) is performed by a program, a space area image plane passing through an inclined or complicated curve route is generated and the variable phase shifting is performed. Thus, the image of the structure is reconstituted to the single contour body and the single plane image is obtained in a display part 30.
