PURPOSE: To realize an economical implementation by a structure wherein the fringe part of a base electrode is covered and a thick film is deposited on the entire surface, a stripe is then removed by lift-off and the thick film is cut selectively and a coating electrode is formed on the entire surface. CONSTITUTION: Electrode structures 2, 12 are provided on a glass substrate 1 by screen printing and the fringe part 12 of the electrode 2 corresponding to a cell arranged contiguously for the purpose of connection is coated. After a paste line 3 is dried up, polysilicon 4 is deposited from a vapor phase on the entire surface. Subsequently, the silicon layer 4 existing on the paste 3 is removed by lift-off and the layer 4 is isolated selectively thus making an isolation groove 5 reaching the substrate 1. Finally, a doped zinc oxide or silver oxide layer is formed entirely on the surface of the structures 1, 2 and 4 having a groove 5 and a front electrode 6 is formed by screen printing thus automating the process.
