The load change-over is fitted in the transformer oil tank, underneath which is mounted the tap changer, driven in common with the load change-over switch by a drive shaft mounted centrally through the bottom. The tap changer switching positions are driven by a reduction gear train, coupled with an indicator disc for the load change-over switch. The reduction gear train is mounted at the bottom of the oil tank together with the drive wheel representing the switching positions of the tap changer. The latter has a latch preventing mechanically the tap changer operation beyond its last switching position. The mechanical latch is also mounted in the oil tank (2) at its bottom (11). It is in the form of a pawl latch (52,75) whose pawl lever (75) swivels directly against a latching cam (52) of the drive shaft (5,51), on attaining the last switching position of the tap changer (3).
