A process for the preparation of antigen fractions intended for the detection of antibodies whose presence in a certain quantity in the blood serum of a subject is correlated with the risk of a cardiovascular incident. An arterial tissue is ground, is delipidised and is treated with at least one agent taken from the group made up of an aqueous solution of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt at room temperature, a warm acid, urea, guanidine and proteolytic enzymes.
