PURPOSE: To accurately operate numbers of the binary-coded decimal notation by an arithmetic logic operation means for binary and binary-coded decimal data, a decimal correction means, a selection means, a 9' complement generation means, etc., to correctly correct the binary sum output. CONSTITUTION: An arithmetid logic unit(ALU) 12 for binary and binary-coded decimal data performs binary arithmetic operation or logic operation of binary or binary-coded decimal (BCD) data given as input addends Ai to Ao and augenas Bi to Bo . A decimal correction device 14 corrects binary sum totals (y. to yo ) of addends and augends in the BCD form given to the ALU 12 in accordance with carry outputs Coi to Coo of the ALU 12 to output a decimal carry output Cd . A multiplexer 16 selects the output of the ALU 12 in the case of binary and logic operation and selects the output of the device 14 in the case of decimal operation. A 9's complement generator 18 selectively generates the complement to the augend input of the ALU 12 at the time of subtraction execution of BCD data. Thus, numbers of the BCD notation are accurately operated.
