The device comprises a fixed electric motor 1, a crank and connecting rod assembly 10, 11 to change the rotary motion to linear forwards and backwards motion of the perambulator, using a means of connecting the connecting rod to the perambulator, a straight channel 5 to guide one or more of the side of the perambulator ensuring a repeated forwards and backwards course and a means for ensuring the following:- that the distance between the channel and the motor does not alter and that their positions in relation to each other remain constant that the motor and channel remain upright and do not fall over and that the bottom of neither the channel nor the motor move when the device is in use.
