This method consists in: - fixing the information or inputs coming from the process to be automated, each item of information or input being fixed only at the moment when this input is used in the course of the cycle; - determining from this information, the effective development of the grafcet of the system; - passing on the new reference values established to the process, that is to say updating the outputs. The development of the grafcet is simulated with the aid of a method based on the study of the validated transitions and consisting in: - determining, among the validated transitions, those which become negotiable; - activating the inactive steps situated downstream from the negotiable transitions and converting the transitions downstream from these steps into transitions which may be validated; - de-activating the steps upstream from the negotiable transitions; - examining the steps situated upstream from the non-negotiable validated transitions determined at step A, so as to determine those which will be validated during the next development cycle. e
