A timepiece with an analogue display mode has a first signal output part for generating a first signal for the seconds, a second signal output part for generating a second signal for the minutes, and a third signal output part for generating a third signal for the hours in which twelve numbers and four auxiliary numbers are prescribed in advance on the display surface of a display part which is subdivided into sixteen zones, while three primary light colours are preallocated to the displays for the seconds, minutes and hours, with the result that the passage of time can be displayed by colour changes in conjunction with the respective illumination of the numbers or by the emission of the respective special colours or of the combination of colours which are produced by colour-generating devices in accordance with the signals which are generated by the respective signal output parts. The same colour patterns never occur within twelve hours in the case of the present invention.
