The box (1) folded from a cardboard blank has front (2), rear (3) and side (4,5) walls, bottom (6) and top (7) and is intended for holding flat items (45) in stacked formation. One wall (2) is provided with a dispensing opening (53) which is defined by a perforation in that wall, preferably in the front wall (2) and adjoining the bottom. The removably (52) wall portion (46) defined by the perforation may connect, via a fold, with a flap (28) which extends into the box interior and is (externally) covered, by the bottom. USE/ADVANTAGE - Box e.g. for flat bags used in a shop. The box is itself used as a bag dispenser so that transfer of the contents to ta dispensing container and the need for such container are eliminated. The box is produced from a single blank.
