The nature of the present invention is to provide compositions for use in a method of inhibiting the development of cancer cells in humans by restricting the biochemical reaction within these cells in a manner which prevents the spread of the neoplasm and result in necrosis of the cancerous tissue. This object is achieved in accordance with the invention by providing:(i) A lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) obtained from a primate other than the patient to be treated, for use in the treatment of human cancer patients having cancer cells which include LDH, or(ii) An antibody which reacts with the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in human cancer cells for use in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells in a human cancer patient.展开▼
