摘要
A gas bubble-containing preheated unvulcanized coating material (6) is fed onto a fabric web (1) between an applicator cylinder (7) and a distributor cylinder (8), after which it is removed from the applicator cylinder, transported and transferred on one side to the fabric web fed between the applicator cylinder (7) and a counter-pressure cylinder (2). Immediately in front of the applicator cylinder a swollen mass (14) of coating material forms. Independently of the thickness to be achieved the size of the gap between the applicator cylinder (7) and counter-pressure cylinder (2) is set to a size which is thin enough to ensure that even the bubbles (11) contained in the region of the middle of the coating are driven back (15) into the region (15) of the swelling (14). At least once a further coating is applied with a rubber coating in order to achieve the preset thickness with a multi-layer coating. The fabric may be made of pure cotton. The coating mass may contain at least 40% by weight of bromobutyl rubber (brominated isobutylene-isoprene polymer), at least 10% by weight of silicon dioxide, at least 10% by weight of sodium-aluminium silicate, as well as additions at least of active carbon black, active zinc oxide, sulphur donators, vulcanization accelerators, anti-oxidants, softeners and fillers. The coated fabric can be used for producing clothing items, in particular shoes, which shield against military gases and have a fire-retarding action.
